I was very honoured to be asked to illustrate the official layout map for LarpCon 2024.
LarpCon takes place over the first weekend of March each year, and welcoms the live action role-play (LARP), cosplay, re-enactment and steampunk communities. Based around a huge trade hall with a massive variety of the finest costume, props and accessories available, LarpCon also boasts the largest selection of Larp weaponry, in one room, in the UK.
I was asked to create an isometric style map showing the layout of the trade halls, activity rooms, and the important features of the leisure centre in which it takes place. I was also asked to make it look like a fantastical medieval market.
This map involved learning some new illustration skills, buying some new drawing tools, and a lot more maths than I usually have to worry about! But I think the final result fulfils the brief, and offers an eye-catching impact besides.
