Mapping Your Fantasy World
Sunday 1st June (NEC – Piazza 1 – Panda Room)
11:00 – 12:00
Are you crafting a fantasy world for your novel or tabletop RPG? A well-designed map can do more than guide your characters; it can reveal the stories of your world and enrich your narrative. In this session, you’ll learn how to design believable maps that support your storytelling and spark inspiration for adventures.
Guided by an experienced worldbuilder and fantasy cartographer, you’ll explore the fundamentals of map-making, including how to:
- Lay out natural and human-made features in a way that feels authentic
- Use geography to shape cultures, economies, and conflicts
- Add details that hint at hidden histories and untold tales
Whether you’re a writer developing a novel or a game master building immersive settings, this session will help you create maps that enhance your storytelling and bring your fantasy world to life.
No prior cartography experience required—just bring your creativity and your love for fantasy!
Entry to this event is included with a valid UKGE entry ticket, please have yours with you when you attend.
There are limited seats available for this event, please arrive early and enjoy the British tradition of queuing politely, to avoid disappointment.
